1. What is the standard range of lifting capacities available for eme GANTRY Cranes?

The range is: 1100 -11000 lbs./500-5000 kg.

2. Are custom models available?

eme GANTRY Cranes with custom beam lengths and heights are available up to 11000 lbs. capacity.  Contact  your authorized eme dealer for availability and pricing.

3. I need a custom beam length?  What are the maximum lengths and lifting capacities available?

Maximum beam lengths are grouped by lifting capacity.  These lengths are:
    a) to 30 ft. - lift capacity to 1100 lbs./9.14 m to 500 kg.
    b) to 20 ft. - lift capacity to 2200 lbs. /6.10 m to 1000 kg.
    c) to 15 ft. - lift capacity to 6600 lbs./4.57 m to 3000 kg.
    d) to 12 ft. - lift capacity to 8800 lbs./3.65 m to 4000 kg.
    e) to 10 ft. - lift capacity to 11000 lbs./3.04 m to 5000 kg.

4. The standard models do not have enough clearance under the lifting ring.  Are taller eme GANTY Cranes available?

Yes.  A Custom GANTRY Crane can be built for your specific requirements.  It is important to discuss your needs with a qualified eme Representative in order to acquire the correct eme GANTRY Crane to fit your situation.  Currently, we have GANTRY Cranes that measure up to 17 feet under the Lifting Ring.

5. How many inches do I add to determine the maximum assembled height of an eme GANTRY Crane?

Add 24 inches to the measurement 'MAX HEIGHT TO RING'.

6. How do I determine the maximum working clear span for an eme GANTRY beam?

The maximum working clear span is 3 ft. less than the length of the beam.

7. How do I determine the maximum lifting height for an eme GANTRY Crane?

To estimate the available lifting height subtract 24 in. from the measurement 'MAX HEIGHT TO RING'.  This will take into account the snugged up dimension of the manual or electric chain hoist.

8. What is the spacing between the adjustment holes on the eme GANTRY beam?

The hole spacing is 8.0 in. (203.4 mm ).

9. What is the spacing between the adjustment holes on the eme Upright Strut?

The hole spacing is 6 in. (152.4 mm) for models - 1100R, 1650R, 2200R, 4400M ;  8 in. (203.4 mm) for models  2200LW, 2200HD,  4400S, 4400R, 6600R; 10 inches (254 mm) for models 8800R and 11000R.   These spacings provides optimal adjustment to obtain the correct lifting height.

10. What type and capacity chain hoists can be used with eme GANTRY Cranes?
Manual or electric chain hoists can be used with eme GANTRY Cranes. The chain hoist MUST NOT have a higher rated lifting capacity than the GANTRY Crane it is being used with.

1. What are the assembled weights of eme's  DAVIT cranes (Chain Hoist Model)?

The assembled weights are:
  750CH - 25 lbs./12 kg.                                750W - 43 lbs./20 kg (includes winch, cable, hook)
1100CH  - 31 lbs./15 kg                               1100W - 68 lbs/31 kg (includes winch, cable, hook)
2200CH - 53 lbs./24 kg                                 2200CHCU - 65 lbs./30 kg

2. With the winch models, is the winch removed after use?

No the winch stays permanently attached to the 750W, 1100W DAVIT arm

3. Do the 750CH,1100CH, 2200CH DAVITs with the chain hoist break down into smaller peices?

These models fold up into a compact package with no disassembly required. The 3300CHCU, due to its weight is designed to have the arm detach from the DAVIT top.

4. Does the  750W and 1100W DAVIT break down into two pieces?

The 750W and1100W models does not break down.  The  DAVIT arm remain attached to the DAVIT top.

5. What are the minimum assembled lifting heights of the eme 750 and 1100CH and 750W and 1100W DAVITS?

The minimum assembled lifting heights are 78 and 80 in./1.98 and 2.02 m respectively.

6. Why are the dimensions for the lifting height under the chain hoist approximate?

The dimensions are approximate because different models of chain hoists have different snugged up lengths

7. How can I increase the lifting height of the eme 750CH, 1100CH, 2200CH, 3300CHCU, 750W, 1100W DAVITS?

Use a custom Top Mount Socket (up to 60 in./1.52 m in height) or increase the length of the DAVIT Arm.

8. What type of chain hoists can be used with the eme 750CH, 1100CH, 2200CH, 3300CHCU DAVITS?
Electric or manual chain hoists can be used with the 750CH, 1100CH, 2200CH and 3300CHCU.  Hoists must not have a rating greater than what the  DAVITS are rated for (750/341 to 2200 lbs./1000 kg).

It is suggested that customers: (1) obtain a site plan from a qualified person (ie.Professional Engineer) for where they expect to install the socket(s), (2) have a qualified person or company install the socket(s), (3) use fasteners, adhesives, etc. that will handle the loads and forces imposed on the socket(s) by the eme DAVITS.

6. Should a drain be provided for the Top Mount or Flush Mount Sockets?

If possible a drain line should installed to remove water or moisture that may collect at the bottom of the socket tube.  The person doing the site plan should determine whether a drain line can be installed.  All eme sockets are provided with a drain hole at the bottom of the socket tube.

7. Can my existing sockets be used with the  eme 1100CH, 1100W DAVITS?
Existing sockets can be used with the eme DAVITS so long as the socket hole is greater than the diameter of the eme DAVIT pin.  Customers should obtain proof from competent persons that their existing sockets can handle the forces that will be imposed upon them by  eme DAVITS. eme can supply custom inserts that will allow customers to use their current sockets with the lightweight eme DAVITS. eme's product performance will start with the insert and not the socket.

1. Why would we use a VRA?

A VRA has the range of coverage of a costly overhead bridge crane, with a cost of less than 30 percent of that same piece of equipment.  eme’s VRA is used with an existing eme DAVIT Arm to provide the infrequent maintenance which is required for this crucial disinfection equipment.
